A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is an engineer who works directly with customers, building and deploying solutions inside the client's own environment instead of only shipping a product from the office. This program trains you for that role end to end. You'll learn how to run discovery conversations and turn a vague problem into a scoped plan, build a working prototype quickly, integrate it with a client's existing systems and APIs, and deploy it inside real infrastructure constraints. You'll also practise debugging live under pressure, working with messy client data, embedding AI and LLM features into client workflows, and explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders. Guest lectures and mentorship come from working Forward Deployed Engineers, and the program ends with a capstone where you scope, build and hand off a solution for a simulated client engagement.

Comprehensive modules designed to build Forward Deployed Engineer skills step by step.
Set up a professional, AI-native engineering workflow and write production-grade Python.
Turn a vague customer problem into a clear PRD and a production-ready API.
Build the data layer and hardened backend that every AI product sits on, then design, estimate and price AI architectures for the client.
Build LLM and RAG applications, and prove they work with real evaluation.
Build autonomous, tool-using agents and know when to fine-tune.
Deploy, observe and operate AI systems in the cloud.
Secure AI systems and scale them for many tenants.
At L&L AI Solutions, we treat every learner as a professional in progress. Our Placement Mentorship Program pairs you with dedicated mentors who guide, support, and push you through every stage of your journey — from your first module to your final interview — so you leave not just trained, but genuinely ready to build a career in Forward Deployed Engineer.
You'll work closely with mentors who pressure-test what you know and flag exactly where to focus next. Through regular check-ins, simulated interviews, and guided practice, you'll build the technical clarity and communication confidence to hold your own in any interview — technical or HR.

Get complete clarity on how placements actually work — the roles open to you, what employers expect, and where you're the strongest fit. With a mentor by your side, you'll rebuild your resume and LinkedIn profile around the roles you're targeting, so your profile reads as capable as you actually are.

This is where preparation turns into real opportunity. Our placement team matches your profile to live openings, preps you for each specific interview, coordinates directly with employers, and stays with you — feedback and all — until an offer is in hand.

An FDE is a software engineer who works directly with customers. They scope the problem, build and integrate a solution inside the client's environment, and support it after it goes live. The role combines coding, systems integration and client communication.
A product engineer usually builds one product for many users. An FDE adapts technology to one customer's real systems, data and constraints, and spends a lot of time talking to stakeholders. This course covers both the technical and the client-facing side.
The modules cover requirements gathering, rapid prototyping, systems integration, client-environment deployment, debugging in production, data engineering for client data, AI/ML integration, stakeholder communication and security basics, followed by a capstone project.
Some programming background helps, because the course involves building and integrating real solutions. See the "Who Should Do The Forward Deployed Engineer?" section for the full eligibility list, or ask our admissions team about your background.
Train for the hybrid engineering + client-facing FDE role.
Eligibility depends on your background. See the "Who Should Do The Forward Deployed Engineer?" section on this page for the details.
